How Often Should I Eat for Fat Loss?

The body likes to be in a constant state and uses hormones amongst other things to keep everything in balance – this balance state is called homeostasis.

When you don’t eat often enough your blood sugar levels drop and your body releases adrenaline to elevate your blood sugar and rectify the problem. This leads to sharp elevation in glucose and insulin (the fat storage hormone) causing insulin resistance which impedes fat loss.

Eating small meals on a more frequent basis which consists of protein, natural fats and low glycemic vegetables will help you to stimulate your metabolism constantly throughout the day and help to keep your blood sugar level stable. A small meal could consist of a chicken breast and a handful of nuts (up to 10 nuts a serving) for example.
