Hi. This is Mark and Stephen from TheDVCC.com and we’re going to give you another actionable step to help prevent prostate cancer and also be more healthy.

Including Selenium-Rich Foods To Your Everyday Diet

Stephen:  So the types of foods you want to be eating to help prevent prostate cancer are selenium-rich foods. So selenium has been shown to really minimize the risk of prostate cancer. So obviously the more selenium-rich food you can eat, the better. So I got a little list here, because I can’t remember them at the top of my head, but they are Brazil nuts, tuna, chicken, turkey and beef, eggs and sunflower seeds are the main ones that contain good amounts of selenium. So the more of those you can incorporate daily into your everyday lifestyle, the better.

Working on Prevention By Making Them Into a Lifelong Habit

Mark:  Also if you have fish oil, you’ll also be able to remember the list of foods there as well. But it’s very important you do start incorporating these things into your food daily and it’s not just for the short-term. If you won’t get into the habits now, as you’ve seen in the other tip we said, I think prostate cancer goes up dramatically at the age of 65, isn’t it, but obviously it’s all the years that you have previous to that until you hit that age.

The Accumulative Damage You Do To Your Body

Stephen:  Well that’s the thing I think that people don’t realize, it’s not the case of becoming 65 and then you’re  starting to think about it. It’s the case of all the damage, DNA-damage, and all the things like that happened over years beforehand. So 10, 20, 30 years beforehand is when you start contributing to healthy planning at about that age. It’s just that statistically when a lot of people find that they’ve actually…the cancer has manifested itself to a level where actually it gets found.

Start Working on Prevention While You Still Can

Mark: So if you’re 20 and you’re listening and doing and actioning on these tips. If you’re 70, start actioning these tips.

Stephen:  Well, the thing with the way everyone’s lifestyle is going the way health is going in this country, America and different place, western world, is that everything is happening earlier. So don’t 60 or 65 that is when it’s going to come forward. It’s like the whole puberty thing has gone down. Girls are hitting puberty younger and that’s often they reckon is caused by environmental toxins and things like that and our lifestyles. So age of disease is becoming lower and lower.

Mark:  Let us know if you agree with this point and if you know anyone or have known anyone that has gone through prostate cancer. I mean we do and they have gone through and come back the other side, but it touches a lot of people. So let us know. We love to hear your comments. We can have a nice discussion in the box below.
