Why Is Breakfast So Important?

iStock_000010513546SmallBreakfast is vital for weight loss, or fat loss, for the large majority of people as it will satiate you, keeping your blood sugar stable, so that you will not be hungry and therefore less likely to crave sugar.

It will also provide you with much needed protein, as long as you are eating a good quality breakfast including protein and good fats.

Protein is important for regeneration of your body, detoxification, and to allow your body to maintain muscle tone, which is actually very important for health and longevity.

If you also read the article on the Special K’ diet, you will see that the amount of sugar in that breakfast diet is “off the scale” – check it out!

Another reason, perhaps the main reason, for having breakfast and why it is so important is that it has a massive effect on your brain function; the protein in your breakfast helps set the neurotransmitters in the brain for the rest of the day; this is basically the effectiveness of how well your brain works.

An often overlooked aspect of having a good quality healthy breakfast is that it builds confidence at the very beginning of the day; you know straight away that you have done something that is working in favour of your health rather than working against it – so you have already started that day with some confidence in yourself.
